The third ingredient: intent
Now that you've selected your time and space, it's time to articulate your intent. Why are you doing this?
Have a conversation with your partner using the following questions as a guide. You might want to sit and talk, OR, it's also nice to talk through this on a walk together.
- How do I want to feel after each practice? How do I want you to feel?
- How does the rest of the world benefit from us prioritizing this? (E.g., coworkers, kids, etc.)
- What will I do if I feel challenged? What will I do if you feel challenged? What if we both feel challenged?
Write a short paragraph that sums up the main things that came up in your conversation about your intent.
